This is a forum for people concerned with education issues. It is sponsored by the for-profit organization accurately named "Helping Educators Ally Tactfully" (HEAT). The mission is exactly what the name says: "alliances....tactfully." Educators train the world. A child's first educators are his or her parents. That is where it starts. For the rest of our lives, we learn from many other sources.

It is my aim to organize educators, organizations, and resources into a community working together to achieve meaningful goals and objectives for students and their families.

In order to accomplish this, we develop resources (network), generate revenues (money), increase information (knowledge).

Finally, wisdom gives us a vision for the future

and

strength enables us to participate in its creation.

It was dark, my uncle and I crossed the street and entered a small store to buy some chips and soda.

The television report was breaking the news that Martin Luther King Jr had just been shot. Fears of civil unrest were being discussed by the media.

We were on the eastside of Detroit, in a rough neighborhood, and even though we were at my father’s wake, we knew it was time to leave the area.

Since that night, a question has been at the center of my life’s journey. King had written a book, “Where Do We Go From Here, Chaos or Community?”

Building community was the answer that I chose as I grew, studied, and learned.

I believe that educators are at the core of building a community. This groupsite is dedicated to building a community that will impact learners…people in Houston, in Texas, in the United States, and on the globalized Internet.
